Urban Gym Group accelerates 2025 expansion with three new acquisitions

Announcement | July 04, 2025 | 5 minutes
Gym chain seeks strategic expansion opportunities across EuropeAmsterdam – London, July 4 – Urban Gym Group (UGG) is rapidly advancing its 2025 expansion strategy, announcing three new acquisitions that further strengthen its footprint across Europe’s key urban markets. Following successful growth in London, Amsterdam, and Rotterdam — and the recent strategic acquisition of Health Spa Fitness & Wellness in The Hague — UGG continues its upward trajectory with three new clubs added to its portfolio this month. This latest wave of growth includes the acquisition of Health Club Jordaan, located in Amsterdam’s iconic Jordaan district. The club will be transformed into a premium TrainMore Black Label location, offering signature amenities such as complimentary protein shakes, sports water, coffee, tea, extended access to other clubs and a suite of upcoming wellness and recovery services. UGG is also expanding its reach beyond city centers with the acquisition of two My Local Gym Group clubs in Leusden and Bilthoven — fast-developing municipalities near major urban hubs. These clubs will also transition into TrainMore. TrainMore remains the only gym where members earn €1 per workout, reinforcing its mission to incentivize people to work on their well-being. Urban Gym Group is actively seeking new club locations, partnerships, and acquisition opportunities, particularly in London, across the UK, the Netherlands, and other major European cities. The company welcomes interest from independent gym owners, landlords, and developers who are looking to transition or align with a strong, growing fitness brand. Neil Randall, CEO of UGG: "We’ve had a strong start to the year and continue to identify high-potential locations. Our mission is to enable gym-goers of all levels to experience the unique benefits of the UGG brands." With more club openings and acquisitions planned for the second half of 2025, UGG encourages gym owners, operators, and landlords with suitable sites to connect and explore opportunities to be part of the growth journey.
